The Year of Golden Pig!

Today is the first day of chinese new year. We went down to Chinatown for celebration. Not a bad celebration I have to say. Lots of people and good performances! I am most impressed by the lion dance. Althought it is done by caucasians, it is actually really good!

Depressing News - Doctor Died

A Pakistani doctor who challenged the legality of changes in immigration rules requiring foreign doctors and dentists to obtain work permits has died. A High Court judge, upholding the new rules, said Dr Imran Yousaf, who had run up huge debts after failing to get a UK job, took his own life.

My deepest condolence. May he RIP.

Too much!

I had been asking for snow and now I am getting too much! It snowed very heavily this afternoon for hours and it caused massive chaos on the road! Some people took 4-5 hours to get home and some people had to abandon their cars! It was really dangerous as my car was sliding all over the place on the road. As the traffic was so heavy, I decided to catch a movie at a cinema beside the hospital. Although the movie (Goal 2) wasn't that good, I did get the clear road after the movie! haha....

Snow of the Winter!

This morning we have the heaviest snow this winter! It is still snowing now! Althought I have been here for few years now, snow still excites me. It is a nice change in scenery. Sad thing is I have to go to work now. Damn.

Chinese New Year coming!

It has been few years since I last celebrated Chinese New Year away from home. This is my first year in Birmingham and apparently there will be a celebration event in the Arcadian Center on Nian Cu Yi. Hope it will be good. I walked past the Acardian Center earlier and there are some decoration up there already!
